Victory Over Rainiers Takes New Orleans to 56-36
|
The New Orleans Brass knocked off the Tacoma Rainiers, 7-4, at Bay Hawks Ballpark. Scott Brosius was named player of the game for New Orleans. He hit 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 1 runs. New Orleans is now 56-36, 3½ games up in the Pacific Central.
New Orleans designated hitter Wilson Delgado had a key at-bat for the Brass in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Tacoma pitcher Tavo Alvarez, Delgado hit a bases-clearing double to make the score 6-4, New Orleans. For the day, he went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We'd like to put some distance between ourselves and the rest of the division," said Brosius.
