Chukars Drop Lazy Fisherman with Late Score
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars topped the Naperville Lazy Fisherman, 4-3, in Pacific action at Alleycats Ballpark. The player of the game was Idaho Falls pitcher Jim Pittsley. Reliever Ralph Citarella picked up the win. His record improves to 2-5. Carlos C. Maldonado took the loss. At 39-51, the Chukars find themselves in 4th place in the Pacific Central.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 3-3, designated hitter Dax Jones won it for Idaho Falls. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Jones hit a 1-1 curveball from Scott Arnold for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 4-3 win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Pittsley told reporters after the game.
