Mieske Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Omaha in Walk-Off Win
|
The Omaha Storm Chasers did just enough to sneak past the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-3, at Maples Stadium. Omaha pitcher Calvin Maduro earned player of the game honors. Omaha reliever Tony J. Castillo got the win, raising his record to 1-3. Donnie Elliott was tagged with the loss. The slumping Buzz have lost 8 straight.
Matt Mieske had the critical at-bat for Omaha. With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Omaha the 4-3 walk-off win.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager .
