Tarantulas Lose, 7-3, at Motors Ballpark
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Fox knocked off the Tucson Tarantulas, 7-3, at Motors Ballpark. Steve Pegues, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Colorado Springs won. The left fielder was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ryan Bowen, credited with the win, is now 6-7. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings. The Sky Fox move to 29-63 with the win, while the Tarantulas drop to 45-47.
Pegues came through with some timely hitting for Colorado Springs. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the third and no one down, Pegues hit a 0-1 changeup for a 2-run single. His 104th hit of the season made it 2-1, Colorado Springs.
"Nice to get this one," said Pegues. "Wins have been hard to come by."
