Buzz Come Back Late to Top Storm Chasers

The Buzz grabbed a win, 4-1, at Maples Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Omaha pitcher Pete J. Smith. Smith went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Salt Lake City reliever Greg McCarthy was the winner. His record is now 3-5. Pat Gomez took the loss. Bob Ayrault notched his 1st save in 2 chances.
The Salt Lake City win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Shane Andrews. In the top of the eighth, the Salt Lake City third baseman came to bat and hit a solo home run. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Andrews.
Salt Lake City is now 46-46, Omaha 38-54.
