Cardinals Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago White Sox, 4-3 at Comiskey Park, in part due to third baseman Matt Williams, who nabbed player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. The save was Steve Chitren's, his 6th. The White Sox, now 8-17, continue their poor start.

St. Louis used the clutch hitting of Brent Mayne to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to give the Cardinals the lead, 3-0. For the game, Mayne had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"I really like what we did out there today," Mayne said after the game.
