Lazy Fisherman Trip Brass, 2-1
|
The Naperville Lazy Fisherman took New Orleans pitcher LaTroy Hawkins's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Milton. The final score had Naperville getting past the Brass, 2-1. Hawkins went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 5. The second-place Lazy Fisherman improved to 54-41.
Gary Bennett was 1 for 2 with a walk for Naperville. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jose Paniagua. It was his 32nd walk of the season.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Bennett.
