Sky Fox Score Late, Upend Missions, 5-4
|
Texans Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the San Antonio Missions and Colorado Springs Sky Fox.
The Colorado Springs Sky Fox picked up a win at Texans Stadium, knocking off the San Antonio Missions, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jason Johnson played a key role in the triumph. The win was Antonio Alfonseca's in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Marty Bystrom took the loss for San Antonio .
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman David Doster came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing San Antonio pitcher Terry Mulholland, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Colorado Springs on top, 5-4.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Johnson.
The Sky Fox move to 34-59 with the win, while the Missions drop to 53-40.
