Loss Extends Idaho Falls Losing Streak
|
The New Orleans Brass defeated the Idaho Falls Chukars, 10-3, at Bay Hawks Ballpark. Angelo Encarnacion was named player of the game for New Orleans. His 4 hits included 2 singles and 2 doubles, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Idaho Falls.
Cecil Espy had a big 2-run double for the Brass in the bottom of the third inning. With New Orleans leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a cutter from Phil Stidham and stroked the double to left. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brass ahead, 5-2.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Espy told the New Orleans Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
