Chukars Edge Past Brass, 5-4

The Idaho Falls Chukars faced a tough opponent in New Orleans pitcher Paul Wagner, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Bay Hawks Ballpark by a final score of 5-4. Wagner went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. With the win over New Orleans, the Chukars improved to 40-57.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Dave Hajek to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chukars on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Hajek.
