Rockies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Pilots
The Seattle Pilots went down to defeat to Brian Barnes and his Colorado teammates. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Rockies. The winner was Joey Eischen in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jose Lima took the loss. The Pilots fall to 10-15 and continue their lethargic start to the 1997 season.

Colorado used the timely hitting of Damion Easley to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 15th inning to put the Rockies on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Barnes.
