Getting a good performance from designated hitter Andy Tomberlin, the Round Rock Express defeated the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-4. Tomberlin was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Express. This win makes it 5 in a row for Round Rock.
Tomberlin had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-2 curveball from Ed Pierce, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Express a 6-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Tomberlin.
In postgame remarks, Tomberlin simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
