Lazy Fisherman Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus San Antonio
|
The Naperville Lazy Fisherman topped the San Antonio Missions, 6-3, at Ballpark of Milton. Naperville center fielder Denny Hocking earned player of the game honors. He banged out 2 singles and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Naperville reliever Pete Young picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Terry Mulholland took the loss. Blas Minor, credited with the save, is now 21 for 22 in save opportunities.
Naperville took a 4-3 lead on Craig Worthington's 101st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Worthington hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Antonio pitcher Terry Mulholland shaking his head.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hocking.
The Lazy Fisherman bumped their record to 57-44 with this latest triumph.
