Tarantulas, Gallego Blast Sounds
|
The Tucson Tarantulas buried the Nashville Sounds, 21-1, under a barrage of hits. Mike Gallego led the onslaught, going 4-for-6 for Tucson. The Sounds, at 40-61, have lost 6 in a row.
Eduardo Perez had a big run-scoring single for the Tarantulas in the bottom of the second inning. With Tucson leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Bob Tewksbury and stroked the single to right. It was his 6th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tarantulas ahead, 2-0.
Gallego told a Tucson Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
