Storm Chasers Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Omaha Storm Chasers eked out a 5-4 win versus the Tacoma Rainiers at Premont Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Pete J. Smith, who captured player of the game honors. Omaha reliever Mike Bovee was the winner. His record is now 4-3. The losing pitcher was Tavo Alvarez. Omaha, at 46-58, occupies 4th place in the Pacific Central.
Danny Clyburn made it 5-4 in favor of Omaha when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the 12th. The Storm Chasers went on to win.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager .
