Rockies Raise Rally Flag, Beat San Diego, 7-4
|
The Colorado Rockies picked up a win at Jack Murphy Stadium, knocking off the San Diego Padres, 7-4. Starting pitcher Bob Ojeda played a key role in the triumph. The 4th-place Padres have lost 4 straight games.
Colorado used the timely hitting of Gary Disarcina to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rockies on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ojeda.
