Storm Chasers Fall to .500 After Loss to Missions
|
Maples Stadium was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The San Antonio Missions did just enough to sneak past the Omaha Storm Chasers, 2-1, at Maples Stadium. San Antonio pitcher Tim Belcher earned player of the game honors. San Antonio now has a 3-game win streak.
San Antonio used the timely hitting of Kelly Stinnett to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Missions on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did just enough to win," Belcher said.
