Dodgers Raise Rally Flag, Beat San Diego, 3-2
The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers provided some drama at Jack Murphy Stadium.

The Los Angeles Dodgers faced a tough opponent in San Diego pitcher Ismael Valdez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Jack Murphy Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Valdez went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Rudy Seanez, now 5-1. The loser was Rich Loiselle.

Terry Steinbach's at-bat in the top of the eighth was significant, coming with the bases empty and the game tied, 2-2. The Los Angeles catcher hit a solo home run off Rich Loiselle to put the Dodgers up.

Steinbach told a Los Angeles Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

With the win, the Dodgers have a record of 66-71.
