Cardinals Clip Royals in Tight Contest
St. Louis beat Kansas City at Busch Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Joe Johnson, who earned player of the game honors. St. Louis reliever Steve Olin picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Kevin Rogers took the loss. The second-place Cardinals have won 5 straight games.

Dan Wilson was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cardinals catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Kansas City manager Daniel Drucker. "The effort was great."
