Bell Helps Cardinals Run Win Streak to 6
|
St. Louis third baseman Jay Bell was a significant contributor in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Chicago White Sox. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for St. Louis. St. Louis reliever Mariano Rivera picked up the win, upping his record to 8-8. Chris Bosio was saddled with the loss. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for St. Louis.
Bell came through for St. Louis with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. He hit a 1-1 fastball to left field, staking his team to a 7-5 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Bell told the St. Louis Citizen.
