Cincinnati Makes It 6 Straight with 3-1 Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds racked up a win at Riverfront Stadium, bumping off the Florida Marlins, 3-1. Joey Hamilton, who started for Cincinnati, pitched effectively for his team. The winning pitcher was Hamilton, now 15-9. He tossed 10 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 10. The Marlins, at 81-58, have lost 4 in a row.
Cincinnati took a 3-1 lead on Scott Rolen's 28th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Florida pitcher Bryan Harvey in the bottom of the tenth.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Rolen said.
