Cardinals Win Another One
|
Despite a great performance by Chicago first baseman Jason Giambi, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the White Sox by the score of 6-4 at Busch Stadium. Giambi went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for St. Louis.
Flexing his muscles for St. Louis was Brian S Giles. The designated hitter had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first for the Cardinals. It put his team ahead, 3-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Giles was 1 for 2 with a home run and was hit 2 times. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Giles said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.
