McRae Slugs Blue Jays to 5-3 Win
The Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the New York Mets, 5-3, at SkyDome. Brian McRae, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Toronto won. The center fielder hit 2 home runs. Jeff D. Robinson got the win, improving to 3-3. He held the Mets to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. With the win over New York, the Blue Jays improved to 77-61.

With Toronto leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, McRae hit a curveball from Takehiro Ishii for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 4-2.

"I really like what we did out there today," McRae said after the game.
