The Montreal Expos got a good effort from starter Chris Nabholz in defeating the Toronto Blue Jays at Olympic Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Montreal is now 89-50, 7½ games up in the United League East Division.

The Expos got a big at-bat from second baseman Jeff Kent. For the game, Kent was 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 27th home run of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kent told the Montreal Herald.
