Van Slyke belts 2 home runs, Lazy Fisherman Move to 71-36
|
Andy Van Slyke made an impact in the 5-4 Naperville win over Spokane. Van Slyke, who is tied for 5th in the PAC in total bases with 226, slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Blas Minor, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities. Naperville goes to 71-36. The win puts them 11 games up in their division.
Momentum swung to the Lazy Fisherman in the bottom of the eighth, when Van Slyke, who is tied for 5th in the PAC in total bases with 226, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Lazy Fisherman into the lead, 5-4.
Van Slyke said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
