Lazy Fisherman Continue Skid Thanks to Mejia, Storm Chasers
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Omaha Storm Chasers eventually prevailed at Maples Stadium.
In a high-scoring contest between Omaha and Naperville, second baseman Roberto Mejia was a difference-maker. Mejia, who is tied for 6th in the PAC in triples with 6, earned player of the game honors in the 9-8 Omaha win. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The win was credited to Mike Bovee in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Dennys Reyes took the loss.
Mejia contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Omaha get the win.
"I like our mindset right now," said Omaha manager .
The third-place Lazy Fisherman have dropped 5 straight games.
