Sky Fox Win Thriller, 3-2
|
Colorado Springs Sky Fox starter Ryan Bowen pitched effectively against the Tacoma Rainiers at Motors Ballpark. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-2 win. Colorado Springs is now 36-71, Tacoma 56-51.
The Rainiers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Sky Fox going into the bottom of the tenth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Gary Bennett came to the plate. Bennett hit a run-scoring single on a 1-1 fastball from Tacoma hurler Brian Boehringer. It was Bennett's 57th hit of the year.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Bennett. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
