The Tacoma Rainiers picked up a win at Premont Grounds, knocking off the Nashville Sounds, 5-3. On the mound for Tacoma was left-hander Bryan Hickerson, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tacoma is 4th in the Pacific West with a record of 48-58.

The Rainiers got a big at-bat from right fielder Steve Hosey. For the game, Hosey was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Tacoma a 4-2 lead.

"It was a solid team effort," said Hickerson after the game.
