Brass Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-3 at Colorado Springs
|
New Orleans right-hander LaTroy Hawkins pitched his team to victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Fox at Motors Ballpark. The final score was 5-3. The Brass have an impressive 70-38 record.
It could have been a different outcome for New Orleans, had it not been for Darren Reed, the 29-year old center fielder . Reed contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put New Orleans up, 2-0.
Reed said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
