Spirited fans at Alleycats Ballpark greeted the Round Rock Express for their clash with the New Orleans Brass.

The New Orleans Brass downed the Round Rock Express, 5-3, at Alleycats Ballpark. Steve Gibralter led the way, going 2-for-2 for New Orleans. LaTroy Hawkins earned the win for New Orleans. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 11-9. Mike Holtz notched his 23rd save in 25 chances.

Charlie Hayes contributed to the Brass cause with a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth inning. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run, giving New Orleans the lead.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Hayes said.

The Brass raised their record to 58-50.
