Losing Streak Continues for Tarantulas with 8-4 Loss to Rainiers
The Tacoma Rainiers had to overcome a big game from Tucson first baseman Tony Clark to leave Premont Grounds with a 8-4 victory. Clark was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tacoma reliever Mike Mohler picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Tim VanEgmond was collared with the loss. The 5th-place Tarantulas have lost 11 consecutive games.

Jose Guillen contributed to the Rainiers cause with a productive at-bat in the bottom of the first inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he reached on an error by the P, driving in 2 runs, giving Tacoma the lead.

"This losing is getting old," said Tucson manager .
