Unroe Hits 2 home runs in River Rats Win
Spokane and Portland duked it out at Foxes Ballpark and the River Rats came out victorious.

The Spokane River Rats stopped the Portland Stag, 10-7, at Foxes Ballpark. The River Rats got a big game from Tim Unroe, who hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Spokane reliever Don August picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-3. Dilson Torres was collared with the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Gene Kingsale came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Portland pitcher Dilson Torres, he hit a full count curveball for a run-scoring triple. It was a game-changer, putting Spokane on top, 8-7.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Unroe told a Spokane Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

The win boosts the River Rats to 41-69. The loss puts the Stag at 61-49.
