Storm Chasers Squelch Brass Offense in Shutout Win
|
Omaha right-hander Geremi Gonzalez pitched his team to victory over the New Orleans Brass at Bay Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 6-0. Matt Turner got the save, his 5th in 10 chances. Omaha is now 51-60, while New Orleans is 66-45.
Omaha used the clutch hitting of Pablo Martinez to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to give the Storm Chasers the lead, 1-0. For the game, Martinez had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Omaha manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."
