Brass Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Salt Lake City second baseman Eddie Pye had a good game, even if his team did not. The Buzz dropped a 6-5 decision to New Orleans at Bella Vista Grounds. Pye went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mark Brandenburg, credited with the save, is now 34 for 38 in save opportunities. New Orleans has 3 straight wins, Salt Lake City 3 straight losses.
Eric Helfand was 2-5 with 2 singles for New Orleans. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Todd Frohwirth. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"Exciting game to play in," said Helfand. "Getting the win makes it even better."
