Staton Slugs Buzz to 12-7 Win
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz saddled the San Antonio Missions with a loss at Bella Vista Grounds. The final score was 12-7. Dave Staton, named player of the game, was 3 for 4, including 1 single and 2 home runs. The Salt Lake City first baseman scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Salt Lake City reliever Tim Pugh picked up the win, bumping his record to 7-0. Terry Mathews was collared with the loss. With the win over San Antonio , the Buzz improved to 60-53.
Abraham O Nunez, who is tied for 4th in the PAC with a .415 on-base percentage, aided the Salt Lake City cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop was 4 for 4 with 4 singles.
