Matt Mieske put on a hitting clinic today as the Nashville Sounds dumped the Salt Lake City Buzz 8-3 at Bella Vista Grounds.
The Nashville right fielder made Salt Lake City defenders earn their pay, lashing Salt Lake City pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Mieske said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Matt Mieske singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In his season totals Mieske has 12 home runs and a .288 batting average.
