Storm Chasers Clip Lazy Fisherman, 6-5
|
The Omaha Storm Chasers managed to get by the Naperville Lazy Fisherman, 6-5, at Ballpark of Milton. Omaha right fielder Jack Voigt took player of the game honors. Dave Veres got the save, his 25th in 29 chances. Omaha now owns a record of 61-54.
Voigt came through with some timely hitting for Omaha. With the score 5-5 in the top of the seventh and two down, Voigt hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single. His 98th hit of the season made it 6-5, Omaha.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Voigt, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
