Great Day for Gibralter -- 5 Hits
5 hits in a game has always been a big milestone in baseball -- 5 hits in a game gets a player's name in the record book, win or lose. Steve Gibralter got his name recorded today, but the Portland Stag picked up the win at Bay Hawks Ballpark, topping the New Orleans Brass, 13-10.

"He bushwhacked us," said winning manager . "We were lucky to come out ahead."

Gibralter, who leads the PAC in runs scored with 95, spoke to reporters in the clubhouse following the game, saying his nerves only set in once he was on the cusp of the milestone.

"I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime day," the left fielder said. "I think the coaches could tell I was going to be ready to swing at anything close. That's why my third base coach told me to calm down and wait for a good pitch. That got me back on track."

Steve Gibralter singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off David West in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off David West in the 7th, singled in the 9th and walked in the 10th.

Gibralter is batting at a .306 pace this season, picking up 143 hits in 467 at-bats with 17 home runs, 54 RBIs and 95 runs scored.
