Rainiers Win at Spokane, 6-3
|
Nigel Wilson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Spokane River Rats from losing, 6-3, to the Tacoma Rainiers at Foxes Ballpark. Wilson was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike Trombley picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-9. He struck out 6 in 5 innings. Tacoma's record now stands at 53-62, placing them third in the Pacific West.
Tacoma center fielder Mike R Kelly helped the Rainiers go up, 5-3, in the top of the second inning. With the game tied, Kelly hit a 2-run home run off Spokane pitcher Rick Helling.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Kelly told the Tacoma News.
