Warriors Get Past Tacoma for 5-4 Win
|
The Tacoma Rainiers got a superb performance from pitcher Shawn Boskie. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Walla Walla. The Warriors won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Boskie was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs. Walla Walla reliever Curt Leskanic was the winner. His record is now 2-11. The losing pitcher was Bobby Ayala. The Rainiers have now dropped 5 straight.
The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Ed Pierce, Darrell Whitmore grounded out, driving in 1 run. It gave Walla Walla the 5-4 walk-off win.
"This place sure got loud," said , the Walla Walla manager.
