Xavier Curley had a hand in Salt Lake City defeating Spokane by the score of 7-5. Curley went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 4 runs. Salt Lake City reliever Tim Pugh picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Ken Hill took the loss. Rocky Childress earned the save for Salt Lake City, his 13th of the year.

Had Curley not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Curley hit a 2-run double. The Buzz never looked back after taking the 7-5 lead.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Buzz manager . "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

The Buzz' win now puts them at 32-86.
