Victory Over Missions Takes Round Rock to 71-46
|
Spirited fans at Texans Stadium greeted the San Antonio Missions for their clash with the Round Rock Express.
A 3-RBI performance from right fielder Dwight Smith, who is tied for 4th in the PAC in extra base hits with 48, led the Round Rock Express to a 5-3 win over the San Antonio Missions. Getting the save was John Johnstone, his 29th.
Smith came through for Round Rock with two out in the top of the seventh. With Round Rock trailing 3-1, Smith hit a 3-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Express up, 4-3.
"If it's down the middle," said Smith, "you might as well hit it."
The Express, at 71-46, lead by one game in their division.
