Moore Slugs Storm Chasers to 12-8 Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Kerwin Moore, the Omaha Storm Chasers defeated the San Antonio Missions, 12-8. Moore was 4-5 with 2 home runs and a triple. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Storm Chasers. Omaha reliever Allen McDill picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Chris Hammond was saddled with the loss. With the win, Omaha has a record of 56-63. San Antonio falls to 65-54.
Omaha relied on the hitting of Javier Valentin to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Storm Chasers on top, 6-4. For the game, Valentin had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said San Antonio manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
