New Orleans right-hander LaTroy Hawkins pitched his team to a shutout win, 4-0, over the Colorado Springs Sky Fox. New Orleans reliever Matt Whiteside picked up the win, upping his record to 6-5. Jason Christiansen was saddled with the loss. The 'W' lifts New Orleans's record to 62-55.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the tenth, Steve Gibralter reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. The Brass took the lead, 1-0.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Hawkins said.
