Victory Pushes Missions Record to 77-40
|
The San Antonio Missions knocked off the New Orleans Brass, 8-1. San Antonio starter Mike Dunne pitched well enough to earn top player honors. Dunne got the win, improving to 12-7. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. Dunne allowed 1 earned run. San Antonio now has a 4-game win streak.
The Missions got a lift from second baseman Rex Hudler who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third inning off Vaughn Eshelman. It was his 15th walk of the season and put San Antonio in front, 2-1.
Dunne pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
