River Rats Lose to Sounds in Walk Off
|
The Nashville Sounds stopped the Spokane River Rats, 5-4, behind an impressive performance from Paul Konerko. The top prospect made life miserable for Spokane pitching. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Nashville has a 3-game win streak, while Spokane has lost 3 in a row.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the ninth, until Konerko delivered big-time for Nashville, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Matt Whisenant. The game-changing hit put the Sounds on top, 5-4.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Konerko said.
