Fans who came to Tuttle Fields watched the Portland Stag and the Omaha Storm Chasers fight to the finish.

Portland beat Omaha on the strength of starter Omar Olivares's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Mike Hartley got the save, his 12th in 12 chances.

Mike Mordecai had a big run-scoring double for the Stag in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Portland leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Kirk McCaskill and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stag ahead, 3-1.

"Omar was throwing strikes, locating well," said Portland manager .

Portland now has a 4-game win streak.
