Multi-HR Game for Karros in 7-4 Win
|
The New Orleans Brass relied on the hitting of first baseman Eric Karros to stop the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 7-4. For the game, Karros was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Dana Kiecker, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 4 runs on 11 hits in 7 innings. Cris Carpenter earned his 3rd save in 6 chances.
Karros came through for New Orleans with no one out in the bottom of the third. With New Orleans trailing 3-2, Karros hit a 3-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Brass up, 5-3.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Karros.
New Orleans leads the Pacific Central by 4½ games.
