Red Sox Fall to Appier and Marlins, 5-3

It was a fun time at Joe Robbie Stadium, where the Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins tangled.
The Florida Marlins got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Kevin Appier, but it was good enough for the club to take a 5-3 decision over the Boston Red Sox. The Marlins keep rolling, raising their record to 17-10.
The Red Sox had trouble solving Appier, who surrendered no earned runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Appier.
