River Rats Come Back Late to Top Missions
|
The Spokane River Rats beat the San Antonio Missions, 7-6, at Foxes Ballpark. Spokane second baseman Luis M. Lopez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 4 runs. Spokane reliever Ricky Trlicek got the win, raising his record to 8-1. Steve Olin was tagged with the loss. The first-place River Rats have won 4 straight games.
John Mabry had a productive at-bat for the River Rats with two out in the bottom of the eighth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the pinch hitter hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Spokane win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Spokane manager .
