Victory Pushes Missions Record to 67-55
|
San Antonio catcher Kelly Stinnett was instrumental in his team's 8-4 win over the Naperville Lazy Fisherman. Stinnett went 2-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Missions. Jason Jacome got the win, improving to 6-8. He held the Lazy Fisherman to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Heathcliff Slocumb earned his 17th save in 20 chances.
Stinnett's nice game included a clutch 2-run home run in the top of the sixth.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Stinnett told the San Antonio Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
San Antonio is in third place in the Pacific Central with a record of 67-55.
