Konerko goes 3-for-5 to Power Sounds Offense
|
Paul Konerko batted in 4 runs to lead Nashville to a win over Tucson. The final score was 10-8. Konerko chipped in with 2 singles and 1 home run. Chad Fox, credited with the save, is now 22 for 27 in save opportunities. The third-place Sounds lifted their record to 62-58.
The result might have been different for Nashville, had it not been for Larry Sutton, the 27-year old right fielder . Sutton stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Nashville up, 9-8. For the game, he had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Konerko, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
