Division Series Game 1 Victory for Chouinard and Hartford
The stakes were high. Bobby Chouinard was ready.

The right-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Wolves Ballpark today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Hartford Whalers to victory in Game 1 of the Division Series. Chouinard held the Savannah Swamp Foxes to 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8. The win got the best-of-5 series off to a good start for Hartford, which now leads 1-0.

Chouinard allowed no runs over 9 innings. He also racked up 8 strikeouts.

"I had everything working," said Chouinard.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Wolves Ballpark. Slated to start are John Wasdin for Savannah and Jimmy Haynes for Hartford.
