Vitiello Blasts Swamp Foxes, Slammers Take Game 3, 5-3
The Southeast Slammers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Savannah Swamp Foxes, winning 5-3 at Ravens Ballpark today. Slammers right fielder Joe Vitiello was named player of the game after he was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Slammers to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Vitiello went to the plate for the Slammers. With the clubs tied 3-3, he saw a 2-1 fastball from Alan Benes and hit a 2-run home run to put the Slammers on top, 5-3.

"This was a good win," said Vitiello.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Ravens Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are C J Nitkowski for Savannah and Greg Keagle for Southeast.
